List of best portable application

Portable application is an application that can run straight from your external storage device without installation. Portable applications are quite handy especially when using public computers or others computers where our favourite application is not installed. Portable applications does not store or alter any data on the host computer. Hera are some portable application that I found to be very useful and could ease your digital life:
1. Google Chrome Portable Google Chrome is the fastest and lightest browser I had ever use. Many people use this browser even when the browser is still in beta stage. Now Chrome has come out from the beta stages and becoming better. There are many version of portable Google Chrome on the net. You can also try SRWare Iron which is a browser based on chromium source but safer than Chrome. 2. Pidgin Portable Pidgin is an universal instant messenger which is previously known as Gaim. Pidgin support many IM protocol such as YM, ICQ, Gtalk and lots more. I like to use Pidgin when I need to chat with at a cyber cafe where Yahoo Messenger is not installed by default. It is better than using web version of Yahoo Messenger which I think is quite sluggish.
3. Mplayer Portable Did you ever come across the situation where downloaded video cannot be played? Try Mplayer. Mplayer can play almost any video format that exist in this world. You don't need to install any codec anymore with this player. Other alternative to this player is VLC player but i don't really like it because of unknown reason.
4. GIMP portable Still using Window's Paint to edit your picture? You must come from the 20th century. GIMP is a free and open source image editor that is also an alternative to the expensive and well-known Adobe Photoshop. I also have a portable version of Adobe Photoshop CS3 (cracked!) but sometimes I still use GIMP when the host computer is kinda slow.
5. Lightscreen Portable With Lightscreen Portable, you don't need to press the Print Screen button anymore to take a screenshot. Using lightscreen, you can choose whether to take a full screenshot or only the screenshot of selected area so you don't have to crop the image later. This software is also very lightweight.
